The Hyundai Ioniq 5, assembled in India as a completely knocked-down (CKD) unit, is available in a single, fully-loaded, rear-wheel-drive variant, priced at ₹46.05 lakh (ex-showroom). This electric vehicle features a 72.5 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 631 kilometers on a full charge. The Ioniq 5 competes with other premium electric vehicles in the market, including the Volvo XC40 Recharge, Kia EV6, and BMW iX1.
The recall addresses a potential fault in the ICCU, a critical component responsible for powering electronic systems like air conditioning, infotainment, and seat ventilation. The ICCU functions as a converter, reducing the voltage from the main battery to the secondary 12V battery, ensuring the smooth operation of these electronic components.
Hyundai Motor India will contact affected Ioniq 5 owners through various communication channels. Customers are encouraged to visit their nearest Hyundai dealerships for an inspection of their vehicle’s ICCU. If a fault is detected, the service or part replacement will be carried out free of charge.
