A shocking altercation between a bank manager and a customer at a Union Bank branch in Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur area has gone viral, drawing widespread attention. The incident, which reportedly occurred due to a disagreement over increased tax deductions on a fixed deposit, escalated into a violent confrontation.
The 43-second-long video shows Jaiman Rawal, the customer, angrily confronting the bank manager. The argument quickly turns physical as Rawal grabs the manager by the collar and slaps him on the head. A woman, possibly a colleague, can be heard urging Rawal to calm down, while an elderly woman, believed to be Rawal’s companion, intervenes in an attempt to deescalate the situation. She even slaps Rawal, trying to separate the two men. Despite the intervention, Rawal continues his aggressive behavior, launching another attack on a different bank employee as the video ends.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many condemning the violent outburst. The altercation took place at the Union Bank branch in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad, where the staff was reportedly caught off-guard as Rawal reacted angrily over the tax deduction issue on his fixed deposit.
Following the incident, the Vastrapur police registered a case, and investigations are underway. Bank officials have expressed concern over the safety and security of their employees, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a professional and peaceful environment in banking institutions.
This is not the first instance of a bank customer becoming violent over financial disputes. In a similar incident from Patna, a customer at Canara Bank harassed a woman bank manager over a CIBIL score issue. The man threatened the woman and caused a scene in the branch, further highlighting the rising instances of aggression in financial institutions.
As authorities investigate both cases, the incidents raise questions about customer service, emotional stress related to financial matters, and the need for heightened security and conflict resolution measures within banks.
