Additionally, the number of individuals donating over ₹50 crore has increased by 125 percent, with 30 philanthropists now meeting this benchmark. Moreover, 61 philanthropists donated more than ₹20 crore, a 128 percent rise from five years ago.
Mumbai continues to lead as the hub of philanthropic activity, accounting for 30 percent of the list, followed by New Delhi at 19 percent and Bengaluru at 9 percent.
This year also saw a surge in self-made philanthropists, with 109 new individuals entering the list—a 43 percent increase from the previous year.
