YouTuber Jack Doherty, known for his controversial content and extravagant displays of wealth, found himself at the center of criticism after crashing his $200,000 McLaren sports car during a livestream over the weekend. The 20-year-old content creator, who has amassed nearly 15 million subscribers, was streaming on the platform Kick when the incident occurred.

Footage circulating online captured Doherty speeding on a rain-soaked highway, seemingly distracted as he glanced at his phone. As he lost control of the vehicle, he could be heard exclaiming, “No, no, no!” before colliding with a guardrail. Following the crash, Doherty shared videos of the aftermath, including one where he called for help from inside the wrecked car.

However, viewers expressed outrage at his apparent prioritization of the damaged McLaren over the well-being of his injured cameraman, who was seen in the passenger seat bleeding from the head and clutching his arm. Comments on social media highlighted this disturbing focus on the vehicle rather than concern for his friend. One user wrote, “Your friend’s face is gushing blood, but you make sure he stays filming from all angles… nice.” Another added, “If you’re whining about your car on video for likes while a person in the car is hurt and bleeding, you’re a garbage person.”

Doherty later posted a video from a hospital room where his cameraman was receiving stitches. Notably, he did not re-upload the complete footage that captured the moments leading up to the crash. In a separate clip, he expressed regret over the damaged car while handing the camera to his injured friend, asking him to continue filming.

This incident marks not the first for Doherty when it comes to on-camera crashes. In March, he flipped a newly acquired Can-Am off-road vehicle shortly after purchasing it, and in November, he crashed a golf cart with his girlfriend inside.

Doherty’s latest mishap raises questions about accountability and the risks of livestreaming while driving, especially as he previously joked about crashing the McLaren shortly after acquiring it. The YouTuber purchased the totaled McLaren last year, just weeks after adding a Lamborghini and a Tesla to his collection.
