This announcement follows Liu’s recent receipt of the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award, presented by Manharsinh Yadav, Director General of the India Taipei Association, in Taipei on July 4.

Foxconn, the prominent Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, is set to strengthen its ties with India as Chairman Young Liu plans a visit later this year. This announcement follows Liu’s recent receipt of the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award, presented by Manharsinh Yadav, Director General of the India Taipei Association, in Taipei on July 4.

The Padma Bhushan Award, India’s third highest civilian honor, was conferred on Liu in recognition of his contributions to fostering local economies in India through Foxconn’s operations. In his statement, Liu expressed gratitude for the award and acknowledged the efforts of his team in supporting India’s economic growth. He also revealed his anticipation of meeting with Indian leadership during his upcoming visit.

Liu’s last visit to India was in July last year when he attended the Semicon India conclave and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Foxconn has made substantial investments in India, with estimates ranging from USD 9-10 billion across various sectors.

Currently, Foxconn is actively expanding its operations in India, including increasing iPhone production capacity, establishing a joint venture with HCL Group for a chip manufacturing plant, and venturing into electric vehicle manufacturing and Apple AirPods production.

The upcoming visit of Chairman Young Liu underscores Foxconn’s commitment to furthering its investment and operational footprint in India, aligning with the country’s goals of enhancing manufacturing capabilities and attracting foreign investments in high-tech sectors.
