In a major announcement, JioMart, the e-commerce arm of Reliance Retail, has enlisted the legendary cricketer and former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, as its brand ambassador. Alongside this strategic move, JioMart has rebranded its festive campaign as “JioUtsav, Celebrations of India,” scheduled to debut on October 8.

The JioUtsav campaign carries a profound message, highlighting Dhoni’s remarkable contributions to the nation’s joyous occasions and celebrations. The press release by Reliance Retail stated, “The JioUtsav campaign emphasizes the inference that Dhoni has given the nation several occasions to celebrate but has missed being a part of them. So, with renewed vigor, he is determined to celebrate all moments of happiness, festivities, and special occasions with his loved ones.”

Sandeep Varaganti, CEO of JioMart, expressed great enthusiasm about this partnership, affirming that MS Dhoni is the “perfect fit” as the brand ambassador. Dhoni’s persona embodies values of trust, reliability, and assurance, aligning seamlessly with JioMart’s ethos.

“Our new campaign lends itself to celebrating life and all its special moments with our loved ones; ‘shopping’ is an integral part of this revelry,” added Varaganti. He noted that non-metro regions currently account for around 60 percent of JioMart’s overall sales, a testament to the company’s successful efforts to democratize digital retail.

MS Dhoni, sharing his thoughts on the association, expressed strong alignment with JioMart’s values. He emphasized JioMart’s role in advancing the digital retail revolution in India and lauded the vibrant culture, people, and festivals of the country. JioMart also highlighted its commitment to promoting regional artisans, noting that it currently collaborates with 1000 artisans, offering a diverse range of 1.5 lakh unique products on its platform.

As part of this collaboration, MS Dhoni will feature in a 45-second promotional film for JioMart. During the campaign shoot, Sandeep Varaganti presented Dhoni with a Madhubani painting crafted by Ambika Devi, an award-winning artisan from Bihar. This gesture underscores JioMart’s dedication to not only providing products and a superior customer experience but also facilitating artisans and small businesses to conduct their operations with ease.

The partnership between MS Dhoni and JioMart is expected to further elevate the brand’s presence and resonate with consumers who value trust and quality in their online shopping experiences.
