Krishna Agrawal’s Journey: Building Produktion Media From a Passion for Photography

At just 16, Krishna Agrawal picked up a camera driven by curiosity and a passion for photography. What began as a young creative experimenting with images gradually developed into a professional journey in photography, filmmaking and production. Today, at 21, Krishna is the founder of Produktion Media, a Delhi-based production house that works with brands across India.

Krishna’s journey reflects how an early interest, when supported by consistency and a willingness to learn, can evolve into a meaningful career. He began his professional journey as a freelance photographer on August 25, 2021, specialising in fashion and product photography. Entering the creative industry at a young age meant navigating a highly competitive environment where trends change quickly and every project presents new expectations. Rather than being discouraged by the uncertainty, Krishna chose to build his experience one project at a time.

As his understanding of photography and commercial production grew, Krishna began looking beyond individual assignments. He recognised an opportunity to create a more structured production ecosystem that could help brands manage their creative requirements with greater reliability and consistency. This vision led to the establishment of Produktion Media in July 2023.

Since its inception, Produktion Media has developed into a production house working across fashion and product production. The company has executed more than 250 campaigns for recognised names, including JW Marriott, Kama Ayurveda, NEWME and Lifelong India, among others. These projects have given Krishna an opportunity to work across different creative requirements while building relationships within India’s evolving brand and advertising ecosystem.

Produktion Media’s work extends beyond photography and production execution. The company also provides brands with access to models, stylists and broader production support, allowing different elements of a campaign to come together through a more streamlined process. For Krishna, however, the success of a production company cannot be measured only by the final photographs or videos. Customer service, consistency, communication and understanding a client’s requirements are equally important.

This approach has become an important part of Krishna’s entrepreneurial philosophy. In a creative industry where visual trends can change rapidly, maintaining professional standards and delivering consistently can be as important as having creative ideas. His focus on relationships and client experience has helped Produktion Media move beyond individual projects and develop a broader presence in the production space.

Krishna’s education has also contributed to his approach to the industry. Having studied filmmaking at Whistling Woods International in Mumbai, he has been able to combine formal creative education with practical experience. His filmmaking background gives him a wider perspective on storytelling, visual communication and production, while his entrepreneurial journey has encouraged him to think about the operational and business side of creative work.

The transition from freelancer to founder has been an important chapter in Krishna’s career. Freelancing gave him an understanding of clients, creative briefs and the realities of working independently, while building Produktion Media required him to think about teams, processes, partnerships and long-term growth. The combination of these experiences has shaped his approach to running a production business.

At 21, Krishna Agrawal’s journey is still in its early stages, but the progress from picking up a camera at 16 to building a production company demonstrates the value of starting early and continuing to evolve. His story is not simply about entering the creative industry at a young age; it is about turning an initial passion into professional expertise and eventually into an entrepreneurial venture.

Produktion Media represents that evolution. Built through creative experience, persistence, professional relationships and a willingness to adapt, the company reflects Krishna’s belief that strong production is about more than creating visually appealing work. It is about understanding a brand, delivering consistently and building trust through every project.

In an industry where opportunities are rarely guaranteed and competition continues to grow, Krishna’s journey offers a simple but relevant lesson: starting young does not necessarily mean starting small. With consistency, learning and the courage to keep moving forward, a passion that begins with a camera can become the foundation of a growing business.
