At its peak, Downdetector recorded 19,431 outage reports, but by 8:34 p.m. ET, the number had dropped significantly to just 429. The website, which tracks service disruptions based on user-submitted reports and other sources, suggested that normal functionality was gradually being restored.

Instagram’s parent company, Meta, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the cause of the outage or provided details on the affected regions. Since Downdetector’s data is based on voluntary user reports, the exact number of impacted users remains unclear.

This is not the first time Meta’s platforms have faced service disruptions, as occasional outages have affected Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp in the past. Users had taken to other social media platforms to report the issue, with many seeking updates on the outage’s resolution.

As of now, Instagram services appear to be stabilizing, with only sporadic reports of lingering issues.
