Anmol, a 1,500 kg buffalo from Haryana, has become a sensation in India, not just for its sheer size and pedigree, but also for its astonishing ₹23 crore price tag. The buffalo, whose fame has spread across agricultural fairs like the Pushkar Mela and the All-India Farmers’ Fair in Meerut, is gaining attention for both its size and unique lifestyle.

Owned by Gill, Anmol is more than just a prized animal—it’s a symbol of wealth and status. To maintain its exceptional health and strength, Gill spends a substantial ₹1,500 every day on Anmol’s specialized diet, which is packed with high-calorie foods. This diet includes 250 grams of almonds, 30 bananas, 4 kg of pomegranates, 5 kg of milk, and an impressive 20 eggs per day. Additionally, Anmol is fed oil cake, green fodder, ghee, soybeans, and corn, all contributing to its robust health, especially in preparation for exhibitions and breeding.

In addition to its extravagant meals, Anmol’s grooming is nothing short of luxurious. It is bathed twice daily, and a special mixture of almond and mustard oil is applied to keep its coat shiny and healthy. Despite the considerable expenses, Gill remains deeply committed to providing Anmol with the finest care, even selling the buffalo’s mother and sister in the past to help cover the rising costs of its upkeep. Anmol’s mother was a high-producing dairy buffalo, yielding 25 litres of milk per day, but her sale was necessary to fund Anmol’s growing expenses.

Anmol’s value is not only tied to its size and diet but also to its role in cattle breeding. The buffalo’s semen, extracted twice a week, is in high demand among breeders across the country. Each semen extraction, valued at ₹250, has the potential to breed hundreds of cattle, generating a steady income for Gill. It is reported that Anmol’s semen sales alone bring in ₹4-5 lakh per month, contributing to covering the significant costs of its maintenance.

Despite several lucrative offers to sell Anmol for its ₹23 crore valuation, Gill has no intention of parting with his prized buffalo. To him, Anmol is more than just an asset—it’s a beloved member of the family, and he remains dedicated to ensuring the buffalo’s continued well-being.
