During his first visit to Indonesia, Musk inaugurated the Starlink satellite unit services at a clinic in Bali’s capital, Denpasar, on a Sunday afternoon. The event marked a milestone as Musk, alongside Indonesia’s Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, signed an agreement focusing on the health sector.

The launch of Starlink in Indonesia is poised to revolutionize connectivity in the region. The pilot testing of Starlink services in three health facilities showcased significant improvements in internet speeds, aiding data input for vital healthcare initiatives such as immunizations, child nutrition, and diabetes management.

The Indonesian government’s commitment to integrating Starlink’s services into its infrastructure is evident, with plans to roll out commercially across the archipelago following successful trials. This initiative aligns with Indonesia’s broader vision, including the relocation of its capital from Jakarta to Nusantara to address environmental challenges like rising sea levels and land subsidence.
