In a surprising revelation, Gautam Singhania, the Chairman and Managing Director of the prominent conglomerate Raymond Ltd, announced his separation from his wife, Nawaz Modi. The billionaire industrialist, aged 58, shared the news on social media, stating that after 32 years together, they have decided to pursue different paths.

Singhania and Nawaz, the daughter of solicitor Nadar Modi, tied the knot in 1999 after eight years of courtship. In his social media posts, Singhania expressed that this Diwali would be different from those in the past, acknowledging the significant change in his personal life. While he did not delve into the details of the separation or custody arrangements for their two children, he emphasized their commitment to the well-being of their daughters, Niharika and Nisa.

Addressing the rumors circulating in the public domain, Singhania noted, “As I reflect over the unfortunate developments in the recent past, there has been a lot of unsubstantiated rumour mongering and gossip surrounding our lives fanned by ‘not so well-wishers.'”

The business magnate urged privacy and respect for their personal decisions, emphasizing the need for space to settle all aspects of their relationship. He requested well-wishes for the family during these challenging times.

Minutes before revealing the personal news, Singhania shared updates about Raymond Group’s real estate arm, highlighting its expansion plans in Mumbai. The conglomerate has secured three new real estate projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with a combined revenue potential exceeding ₹5,000 crore (USD 678 million).

Gautam Singhania, known for diversifying the family business and steering Raymond Group into various sectors, was previously in the spotlight due to a feud with his father, Vijaypat Singhania. The elder Singhania founded Raymond Group, a renowned name in India, known for its apparel brands and textiles. Gautam continued to broaden the group’s revenue streams.

The chairman, recognized for his adventurous streak, including racing fast cars globally, sought to separate his personal life announcement from the professional achievements of Raymond Group.
