Zomato-owned quick commerce platform Blinkit has announced the launch of a new feature that allows customers to return and exchange clothing and footwear within just 10 minutes. This initiative aims to address common issues related to size and fit, making the online shopping experience more convenient for users.

Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, shared the news on his social media handle, highlighting the significance of this feature. “Customers can initiate a return/exchange in case of a size or fit issue with the delivered product,” he wrote. “This solves a crucial problem of size anxiety for categories like clothing and footwear.” Dhindsa further emphasized that the return or exchange would occur within 10 minutes of raising a request, making the process incredibly efficient.

The new feature is currently available in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune, following successful testing in the Delhi-NCR region over the past few weeks. Although specific details about the return process have not yet been formally released, the feature aims to enhance customer satisfaction in an increasingly competitive quick commerce market.

Blinkit offers a wide range of apparel options from various brands, including Adidas, Boldfit, Jockey, Liberty, Paragon, US Polo Association, and XYXX. The introduction of this feature comes at a crucial time as the quick commerce sector, valued at approximately $5.5 billion, faces stiff competition from other platforms like Zepto, Swiggy’s Instamart, Flipkart’s Minutes, and BigBasket’s BBNow.

Currently, Zepto provides a 72-hour exchange policy for apparel items, but this applies only to damaged or defective products. Blinkit’s swift return and exchange feature could position it favorably among consumers looking for a more flexible shopping experience.

As Blinkit continues to innovate, customers in these select cities can look forward to a seamless shopping experience, addressing their size and fit concerns in real time. More cities are expected to be added to the service in the near future, expanding the reach of this convenient feature.
