With this acquisition, Patanjali Ayurved will now serve as the promoter entity of Magma General Insurance. Alongside Patanjali, several other entities—including SR Foundation, RITI Foundation, RR Foundation, Suruchi Foundation, and Swati Foundation—have also acquired stakes in the company.
One of the key sellers in this transaction is Senoti Properties, a joint venture between prominent businessman Adar Poonawalla and Rising Sun Holdings. Before the sale, Senoti Properties held a 74.5% stake in Magma General Insurance. Other entities that have divested their stakes include Celica Developers, Jaguar Advisory Services, Keki Mistry, Atul DP Family Trust, Shahi Sterling Exports, and QRG Investments and Holdings.
The acquisition is expected to provide Magma General Insurance with access to a broader customer base, particularly benefiting from Patanjali Ayurved’s strong consumer loyalty. The move aligns with Patanjali’s ongoing efforts to diversify its business operations beyond the FMCG and wellness sectors.
