Citroën India has officially introduced the C3 Aircross SUV, expanding its product lineup in the country’s competitive automotive market. This versatile midsize SUV is set to offer a blend of affordability and innovation, with prices starting at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The C3 Aircross marks the fourth addition to Citroën India’s portfolio, joining the ranks of the C5 Aircross SUV, C3 hatchback, and E-C3 electric hatchback. Manufactured at the French automaker’s Thiruvallur facility in Tamil Nadu, the vehicle incorporates over 90 percent locally sourced components, aligning with the “Make in India” initiative.
Roland Bouchara, CEO and Managing Director of Stellantis India, expressed his enthusiasm for the C3 Aircross, saying, “This mid-size SUV is built featuring key elements of Citroën’s DNA — Comfort and Innovation. It has received a positive response across the country since the start of bookings in September. We are ramping up our production to cater to the festive season demand.”
The C3 Aircross offers customers a choice of three variants: You, Plus, and Max, with prices ranging from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 12.34 lakh (ex-showroom). Notably, the SUV comes in two seating configurations, accommodating both a standard 5-seater layout and a 5+2-seater layout with removable seats in the third row, enhancing its versatility to suit various needs.
Under the hood, the C3 Aircross is powered by a robust 1.2-litre Gen-3 Turbo PureTech petrol engine, delivering a maximum power output of 108hp and a peak torque of 190Nm. This engine is paired with a responsive 6-speed manual gearbox, providing an engaging driving experience with an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.5kmpl.
Positioned between the C3 and the C5 Aircross in Citroën’s lineup, the C3 Aircross measures 4.3 meters in length and boasts a generous wheelbase of 2,671 mm. With a commendable ground clearance of 200 mm and a capacious 511-litre boot space (with the third row of seats removed), it is well-equipped to handle diverse Indian terrains and lifestyles.
The C3 Aircross SUV features a host of modern amenities, including a 10-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a digital instrument cluster, air-conditioning with a roof-mounted blower, an engine start/stop button, electrically adjustable ORVMs, a rear wiper with washer, a reverse parking camera, roof-mounted rear AC vents, manual interior rearview mirror (IRVM), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) along with Hill Hold functionality.
Citroën India has also announced that deliveries of the C3 Aircross will commence on October 15. Furthermore, customers can take advantage of the ‘Buy Now Pay in 2024’ offer, applicable to all deliveries made until October 31. This attractive proposition adds an extra layer of affordability to an already enticing SUV offering in the Indian market.
