PM Modi to Virtually Launch Projects Worth ₹11,200 Crore in Maharashtra Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various projects valued at over ₹11,200 crore in Maharashtra through a video conference today, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). These projects were originally scheduled for launch during the Prime Minister’s visit to Pune, which was postponed due to heavy rainfall in the region.

Initially planned for September 26, the unveiling of these significant initiatives was cancelled as a result of adverse weather conditions affecting Pune and its surroundings.

Among the projects being inaugurated is the Pune Metro section from District Court to Swargate, marking the completion of the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1). This underground section, with an estimated cost of around ₹1,810 crore, will enhance urban transport in the city. Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the Swargate-Katraj Extension of Pune Metro Phase-1, a completely underground extension costing approximately ₹2,955 crore, which will span about 5.46 km and include three stations: Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate the Bidkin Industrial Area, a transformative project covering an expansive 7,855 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. Located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, this project, developed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, is expected to become a vibrant economic hub in the Marathwada region, with a total estimated cost exceeding ₹6,400 crore across three development phases.

In addition, the inauguration of the Solapur Airport is set to significantly improve connectivity, making the city more accessible to tourists, business travelers, and investors. The revamped terminal building is expected to serve around 4.1 lakh passengers annually.

Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Memorial for Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s First Girls’ School at Bhidewada in Pune, honoring the legacy of this pioneer in women’s education.
