A family of eight has sparked outrage in the UK after leaving an eatery without settling their bill of £329 (approximately ₹34,000). The incident came to light when Bella Ciao Swansea, the restaurant they dined at, shared their experience on social media.
According to Bella Ciao Swansea’s Facebook post, the family attempted to pay with a savings account card, which was declined twice. Subsequently, the woman claimed she needed to fetch her “other card” but never returned. Her son, who remained inside, received a call and abruptly left, leaving the bill unpaid.
The restaurant’s post garnered widespread attention and condemnation online. Many users expressed support for restaurants implementing a “pay when you order” policy to prevent such incidents. One diner seated nearby commented on the family’s audacity and called for police intervention to hold them accountable.
In response to the incident, Bella Ciao Swansea took legal action against the family and updated their post to thank the community for assistance in identifying them. They expressed hope that the culprits would be apprehended and prevented from repeating such behavior at other businesses.
