Union Minister Dr. Ramdas Athawale Intervenes in Vinay Kadam Case — Continuous Efforts by Tushar Tanaji Kamble Lead to Assurance of Justice from National Insurance Company

After a prolonged struggle of over seven years, Mr. Vinay Sahebrao Kadam from Vikhroli (East), Mumbai, has finally received a ray of hope in his pursuit of justice regarding his compassionate appointment request with the National Insurance Company Limited. His case, which had been pending without a fair response for years, recently drew the attention of Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Ramdas Athawale, following the consistent and determined efforts of social leader and Republican Party of India (Athawale) Shramik Brigade State Secretary, Mr. Tushar Tanaji Kamble.
The issue dates back to 2018, when Mr. Kadam’s elder brother, Late Mr. Sudhir Sahebrao Kadam, serving as Deputy Manager at National Insurance Company Limited, tragically lost his life in a road accident on May 2, 2018. In the aftermath of this tragedy, their father submitted a request to the company on July 5, 2018, seeking a compassionate appointment for Vinay. As directed, Vinay submitted all necessary documents on November 11, 2019, but despite his repeated follow-ups, there was no response from the administration for years.
After enduring years of silence, the company finally issued a rejection on July 15, 2024, stating that a new Government Resolution disqualified applicants above the age of 35. When Vinay sought to know the date and authenticity of the mentioned GR, the company could not provide a clear explanation. Left with no other option, he lodged a complaint with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) on March 3, 2025. The Commission took cognizance of the matter and directed the company on March 27, 2025, to submit its explanation. Upon reviewing the company’s response, Vinay discovered two conflicting versions of the cited Government Resolution, each carrying different dates and titles, which cast serious doubts on its legitimacy.
On June 9, 2025, he filed a rejoinder pointing out these discrepancies, after which the Commission again instructed the company on August 15, 2025, to submit a detailed clarification within 30 days. However, before the given time frame expired, the case was abruptly closed on September 1, 2025, without proper reasoning.
When this issue came to the attention of Mr. Tushar Tanaji Kamble, a dynamic and people-centric youth leader known for his social and political activism, he took immediate interest in the case. Realizing the injustice faced by Mr. Kadam, he presented the matter to Union Minister Dr. Ramdas Athawale. Taking prompt notice, Dr. Athawale personally contacted Mr. Udaykumar Mahanthi, Chief Business Manager of National Insurance Company Limited, Mumbai, and instructed that justice must be ensured for Mr. Vinay Kadam.
Upon learning that the matter fell under the jurisdiction of the company’s Head Office in New Town, Kolkata, Mr. Kamble swiftly traveled to Kolkata, carrying an official letter from Dr. Athawale. He met General Manager Mr. Amit Satish and Executive Director Ms. Sridevi Nair at the Head Office, where he presented the Minister’s letter, explained the full case, and pointed out the inconsistencies in the company’s explanations. Both senior officials assured him that the case would be examined thoroughly and appropriate action would be taken to ensure fair treatment.
After returning to Mumbai, Mr. Kamble met Chief Business Manager Mr. Udaykumar Mahanthi once again, shared a detailed report of his meeting in Kolkata, and demanded that immediate steps be initiated to deliver justice to Mr. Vinay Kadam. Speaking to media representatives, Mr. Kamble expressed his firm determination, stating, “I will not rest until Vinay Kadam gets justice. This fight will continue until the truth prevails.”
The intervention of Union Minister Dr. Ramdas Athawale and the relentless dedication of Mr. Tushar Tanaji Kamble have reignited hope for justice in a case that had long been ignored. Their combined efforts stand as a testament to how persistence, accountability, and sincere leadership can help ordinary citizens find their rightful place within the system.
