In a major push towards empowering India’s youth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 71,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals during the Rozgar Mela initiative on Monday. The event, held via video conferencing, marks a significant milestone in the Centre’s ongoing effort to generate employment opportunities for the youth and encourage their participation in nation-building.
PM Modi congratulated the recruits and their families, emphasizing the hard work and dedication that led to their success. “Today marks a new beginning for your journey. Your years of hard work have borne fruit,” he said, addressing the newly appointed individuals.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to creating jobs, highlighting the success of the Rozgar Mela initiative. He noted that in the past decade, the government has been focused on providing job opportunities in various government departments, ministries, and organizations. “Through Rozgar Mela, we are advancing this initiative, and today, over 71,000 youth have received their appointment letters,” he said.
PM Modi also emphasized the transparency of the recruitment process, contrasting it with previous governments. He pointed out that over 10 lakh youth have secured permanent government jobs under the current administration, a record in itself. “These appointments are being made with full transparency,” he added.
The Prime Minister attributed India’s progress to the hard work and leadership of the nation’s youth. He spoke about initiatives like Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, Startup India, and Digital India, which were all designed to harness the potential of young minds. “India is now the world’s fifth-largest economy and third-largest startup ecosystem, with a robust ecosystem supporting youth-led startups,” he noted.
PM Modi also highlighted various accomplishments across sectors, including advancements in manufacturing, renewable energy, space exploration, and wellness. He praised the National Education Policy (NEP) and initiatives like Atal Tinkering Labs and PM Shri Schools, which benefit students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds.
The Prime Minister made a special mention of the participation of women in the Rozgar Mela. He said that many women had received appointment letters and hoped they would inspire others to follow suit. PM Modi also highlighted the government’s efforts to empower women through schemes like Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana, Jan Dhan Bank accounts, and Mudra Yojana, ensuring that women can pursue education and career opportunities without financial constraints. “Under the PM Awas Yojana, the maximum number of houses are in the name of women,” he added.
The Rozgar Mela is taking place across 45 locations nationwide, with recruitments being made for various ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health, and the Department of Financial Services.
This initiative aligns with PM Modi’s vision for a “Viksit Bharat 2047” and further strengthens his commitment to providing meaningful employment to youth across the country. The Rozgar Mela serves as a crucial step towards ensuring that India’s young population can contribute to the nation’s progress and self-empowerment.
