Elon Musk Takes Aim at Vinod Khosla’s ‘No Plebs Allowed’ Beach Sign, Proposes BBQ Party

In a recent social media exchange, tech billionaire Elon Musk took aim at venture capitalist Vinod Khosla for restricting public access to a beach near Khosla’s home. The conflict escalated after Khosla criticized Musk’s climate change discussions with former President Donald Trump, labeling Musk’s views on CO2 levels as “dumb.”

Musk shared a photo of a sign posted by Khosla reading “no plebs allowed,” captioning it with, “Wow, so crazy that @vkhosla put this sign on a public beach.” He further highlighted the irony of Khosla’s plans to send unvetted migrants to small towns while restricting public access to his beachfront property.

Khosla purchased his $32.5 million beachfront home in 2008 and soon after erected a gate to prevent public access to the beach cove. While Khosla’s legal team argues that the gate is permissible since he owns the land, many community members disagree, leading to a lengthy legal battle. In 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Khosla’s appeal, upholding a lower court ruling that favored the California-based Surfrider Foundation, which advocates for beach and ocean conservation.

In addition to Musk’s recent comments, Khosla faces scrutiny from the State Lands Commission over his continued attempts to restrict public access to the beach.

Musk humorously suggested hosting a BBQ party on the beach to challenge the restrictions, further fueling the online feud between the tech moguls.
