Dr HARSHAL GIRI – FROM UDAIPUR TO INDIA’S ELITE
Dr HARSHAL GIRI - FROM UDAIPUR TO INDIA’S ELITE
The Remarkable Journey of Dr. Harshal Giri From a Small-City Trainer to a Trusted Name Among Celebrities, Industrialists, and High-Performance Clients
On any given morning in Udaipur, hundreds of young fitness trainers step into local gyms carrying dreams much larger than the city itself. Most hope to build a stable career. A few aspire to work with athletes. Almost none imagine that one day they will train Bollywood celebrities, advise industrialists, lead healthcare teams, and become recognized for combining physiotherapy, exercise science, nutrition, and biohacking into a single professional philosophy.
Yet that is precisely the path Dr. Harshal Giri would take.
Today, Dr. Giri is known as a celebrity fitness trainer, senior physiotherapist, dietitian, exercise scientist, and one of India’s early advocates of biohacking-based health optimization. Over the years, he has worked with celebrities including Kartik Aaryan, Mandira Bedi, Kalki Koechlin, and Arjun Kapoor, as well as prominent business leaders such as Cyrus S. Poonawalla. He has also been associated with specialized fitness and rehabilitation programs involving Anant Ambani.
Beyond his work with celebrities and high-performance clients, Dr. Giri is also the Founder and Director of Momentum Physiotherapy and Diet Clinic, Udaipur, a multidisciplinary center focused on physiotherapy, rehabilitation, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and preventive healthcare. The clinic reflects his belief that world-class healthcare principles should be accessible not only to elite performers but also to everyday individuals seeking better health and quality of life.
But long before the celebrity clients and high-profile assignments came the long hours, the certifications, the uncertainty, and a young professional determined to prove that education and expertise could open doors far beyond his hometown.
A Dream Bigger Than the City
The story begins in Udaipur.
At a time when the fitness industry was largely dominated by conventional gym training methods, Harshal Giri was spending his days studying anatomy, rehabilitation, exercise science,
and nutrition while pursuing his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Geetanjali College of Physiotherapy.
Most of his peers were focused on completing their degrees. Giri was focused on building a future. He invested heavily in professional education, earning international certifications including ACE Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Certified Health Coach, and NASM Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist.
Those qualifications were uncommon at the time, especially for a young trainer working in a Tier-2 city.
“I always believed that knowledge would eventually create opportunities,” recalls Dr. Giri. “I wasn’t thinking about celebrities or fame. I was thinking about becoming the most competent professional I could be.”
His dedication soon helped him move beyond the role of trainer and into a Master Trainer position, where he began mentoring other fitness professionals while continuing to work with clients himself.
Those years taught him lessons that no classroom could provide: how to communicate, how to motivate, how to build trust, and perhaps most importantly, how to keep learning.
The Assignment That Changed Everything
Every career has a turning point.
For Dr. Giri, it arrived unexpectedly when Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan came to Udaipur during the filming of Love Aaj Kal 2.
According to Dr. Giri, Kartik’s team was looking for a trainer with strong academic credentials, international certifications, and a deep understanding of exercise science.
What began as a professional assignment soon became something much larger. The actor appreciated Dr. Giri’s evidence-based approach to training, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement.
Before long, an opportunity emerged that would alter the course of his career.
Mumbai.
“What started as a routine training assignment in Udaipur eventually became the flight that changed my life,” says Dr. Giri.
For a young professional who had built his career in Rajasthan, moving to India’s entertainment capital represented both excitement and uncertainty. But he was ready.
Where Rehabilitation Met Performance
While working with Kartik Aaryan in Mumbai, Dr. Giri simultaneously joined Qi Spine as a Spine Specialist.
The experience proved transformative.
By day, he worked with patients suffering from spinal disorders, chronic pain, mobility restrictions, and postural dysfunction. Outside the clinic, he worked with high-performance clients focused on fitness, aesthetics, and physical conditioning.
Most professionals spend their careers in one world or the other. Dr. Giri found himself operating in both.
“The human body doesn’t recognize labels like fitness or rehabilitation,” he says. “It only responds to the right intervention delivered at the right time.”
That philosophy would eventually become the foundation of his professional identity.
Pune: The City Where Two Worlds Merged
The next chapter unfolded in Pune.
By this stage, Dr. Giri had become one of the rare professionals equally comfortable inside a rehabilitation clinic and a celebrity fitness studio. Pune would become the city where those two worlds finally merged.
While working with HealthifyMe as a Subject Matter Expert in Exercise Science and Nutrition, he simultaneously joined Acme Physiotherapy and Chiropractic Clinic.
His rise through the organization was swift. From Physiotherapist to Senior Physiotherapist and eventually Head of Department of the Kalyani Nagar branch, Dr. Giri gained valuable experience managing teams, mentoring clinicians, and overseeing patient care.
Yet his responsibilities extended far beyond clinic walls. HealthifyMe entrusted him with premium clients, including fitness icon Mandira Bedi and acclaimed actress Kalki Koechlin.
Rather than offering generic programs, he designed individualized systems that combined training, nutrition, rehabilitation, recovery, and lifestyle modification.
The results earned trust. And trust opened new doors.
The Recommendation That Brought Him Back to Mumbai
Among the most powerful currencies in any profession is recommendation.
Satisfied clients tell friends. Respected professionals recommend colleagues. Exceptional work creates its own opportunities.
For Dr. Giri, one such opportunity emerged when Kalki Koechlin recommended him to actor Arjun Kapoor.
The recommendation brought him back into Mumbai’s celebrity ecosystem and further expanded his presence among high-profile clients.
It was another reminder that reputation is often built quietly, one client at a time.
Working with India’s Business Elite
By now, Dr. Giri’s reputation had begun extending beyond the entertainment industry.
During his years in Pune, he was introduced to Cyrus S. Poonawalla, one of India’s most respected industrialists.
The assignment involved both fitness coaching and physiotherapy-based rehabilitation, particularly for an ankle injury.
The experience reinforced a principle that would remain constant throughout his career.
Whether treating a patient, coaching an executive, or training a celebrity, professionalism matters more than profile.
“The body doesn’t care whether someone is famous,” Dr. Giri says. “The principles remain the same. Assessment, planning, consistency, and execution.”
Around the same period, he also briefly worked with entrepreneur Jimmy Mistry on fitness and lifestyle optimization initiatives.
Building Health Beyond the Individual
Following his celebrity coaching assignments, Dr. Giri joined The Life Institute as Director of Performance Science and Nutrition.
As part of the founding team, he helped design systems aimed at tackling some of modern India’s biggest health challenges, including obesity, metabolic disorders, and lifestyle disease.
The startup eventually faced funding challenges and ceased operations, but the experience expanded his understanding of leadership, business strategy, and healthcare innovation.
It also strengthened his belief that healthcare should focus not only on treatment but on prevention.
The Anant Ambani Chapter
One of the most widely discussed phases of Dr. Giri’s career came through his association with Anti-Gravity and specialized fitness assignments involving Anant Ambani.
His role focused on developing training systems designed to support physical conditioning and weight management while minimizing stress on the joints.
The programs incorporated rehabilitation principles, hydrotherapy-based exercise methods, and carefully structured performance strategies.
The work involved sessions in Mumbai and during visits to Vantara.
For Dr. Giri, it represented the convergence of everything he had spent years studying physiotherapy, exercise science, rehabilitation, recovery, and performance optimization.
Giving Back Through Momentum
Despite working with celebrities, industrialists, and high-performance clients, Dr. Giri remains closely connected to grassroots healthcare through Momentum Physiotherapy and Diet Clinic, which he founded in Udaipur.
The clinic reflects a belief that high-quality healthcare should not be limited to elite circles. While much of Dr. Giri’s career has involved working with high-profile personalities and
performance-focused clients, Momentum was built with a different purpose—to make evidence-based physiotherapy, rehabilitation, nutrition, and lifestyle medicine accessible to ordinary people.
Through Momentum, Dr. Giri and his team work with a diverse range of individuals from office workers struggling with chronic back pain and neck pain to post-stroke patients seeking rehabilitation, women requiring specialized physiotherapy care, athletes pursuing peak performance, and individuals battling obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and other lifestyle-related conditions.
Over the years, the clinic has developed into a multidisciplinary center where physiotherapy, exercise science, rehabilitation, nutrition, and preventive healthcare work together rather than in isolation. Patients are not only treated for pain and injury but are also educated about movement, exercise, recovery, and long-term lifestyle change.
Dr. Giri believes that one of the biggest challenges in modern healthcare is that people often seek treatment only after problems become severe. Through Momentum, he has tried to
promote a more proactive approach—one that emphasizes prevention, physical activity, metabolic health, healthy nutrition, and sustainable lifestyle habits.
“Whether I am working with a celebrity, a business leader, or a patient from my hometown, the goal remains the same,” says Dr. Giri. “To help people move better, feel better, and live healthier lives.”
Today, Momentum Physiotherapy and Diet Clinic stands as one of the most personal parts of Dr. Giri’s professional journey a place where the knowledge gained from working with elite performers and high-profile clients is brought back to the community where his own journey began.
More Than Fitness
What separates Dr. Harshal Giri from many professionals in the wellness industry is not simply the variety of clients he has worked with.
It is the breadth of disciplines he has chosen to master: physiotherapy, exercise science, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, performance enhancement, biohacking, longevity, and human optimization.
Over the years, he has worked with thousands of clients from different backgrounds, helping them lose weight, recover from injury, improve metabolic health, build strength, and enhance quality of life.
Yet he remains convinced that the industry is only beginning to understand what is possible when science and personalized healthcare come together.
The Road Ahead
The distance between Udaipur and Mumbai can be measured in kilometers.
The distance between a young trainer teaching gym members in Rajasthan and a professional trusted by celebrities, industrialists, and elite performers is measured differently through years of study, thousands of client sessions, countless hours of practice, and an unwavering belief that excellence is built one day at a time.
For Dr. Harshal Giri, the journey from Udaipur to India’s elite circles is already remarkable. But if his story demonstrates anything, it is that the journey itself is far from over.
