“Netizens Report UPI Transaction Failures Amid Bank Server Issues”
A widespread outage affecting numerous bank servers across India has left users frustrated and unable to conduct Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions. Customers of prominent banks including HDFC Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra, State Bank of India (SBI), Kotak Mahindra Bank, and others have reported encountering server issues while attempting UPI payments.

Customers of prominent banks including HDFC Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra, State Bank of India (SBI), Kotak Mahindra Bank, and others have reported encountering server issues while attempting UPI payments.
Reports of server outages flooded social media platforms, with users expressing their grievances over failed transactions and inaccessible banking apps. Downdetector, a website monitoring service for online service outages, also received numerous reports regarding ongoing disruptions impacting UPI services and specific banks like Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, and SBI.
The outage has particularly affected UPI payments made through popular apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, BHIM, and Paytm. Users have complained of being unable to complete fund transfers and encountering errors while using UPI-enabled platforms.
Despite the widespread reports from users, neither the affected banks nor the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) have officially acknowledged the ongoing outage. No information has been provided regarding the cause of the issue or the expected duration of the disruption.
Social media platforms have been inundated with posts from affected users, highlighting the extent of the problem. One user tweeted to Kotak Bank, “@KotakBankLtd Server down? What’s the issue? Not able to open the app. Having current account with the bank.” Similarly, another user expressed concern over Bank of Baroda’s server outage, stating, “Bank server is down.. I cannot receive funds in my account.. please look into the matter!”
Users have also shared screenshots of failed UPI transactions and expressed frustration over the lack of resolution from their respective banks. An ICICI Bank customer tweeted about multiple failed transactions due to server issues, while another user questioned the outage affecting HDFC Bank’s UPI servers since 5:30 PM.
With no official response from the banks or NPCI yet, users continue to face difficulties in conducting UPI transactions, highlighting the critical need for prompt resolution to restore seamless banking services for millions of customers across the country.
